This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done,
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

The time of the year where Jesus' birth is celebrated... A time of remembrance of what he came to Earth to do... A time of home-coming... A time of gathering with family... A time of relationship building with friends and family...

For me, a poignant time for reflection of the year passed...

This has been a year of celebration and awakening... receiving a new-found revelation in my career, new career challenges, relationship challenges with colleagues and love ones, renewal of my vision and purpose, stretching and developing myself...

All of us have done things in our past that we wish we had never done. All of us would love to have the opportunity to revisit our past and make the right choice, take back a word wrongly spoken, or express a different attitude than the one that brought someone pain. How do we solve this dilemma?

Trying to act better will not erase what has been done in the past, what has been said in the past, or what has been chosen in the past. There is no way that we can go back and undo what we have done, or unsay what we have said. Reading the Bible will not take care of our past, going to church will not heal our past, and doing good works will not erase our past.

God has provided the only complete and perfect solution to every regretful and sinful thing related to our past. God's answer is not found in what we can do, but in what He has done. God sent His Son into the world to die upon a cross. He didn't die as a martyr, but as our Savior. He didn't die for a noble cause, but for our sins. Jesus Christ died to save us from every stain of sin, every shame of sin, and every pain of sin.

When Jesus shed His blood for our sins, God's justice was satisfied. The blood of Jesus Christ stands as the only redemptive price God will accept for the cleansing and forgiveness of our sins. Because of the blood of Jesus, God says to us through His Word, "Turn to Me and I will cleanse you. I will wash you. I will forgive you. I will not only do this, but I will do even more, I will forget your sins completely and remember them no more."

Have your sins weighed you down? Let Jesus lift you up. Have your sins broken your heart? Let Jesus heal you. Have your sins had you bound? Let Jesus free you. Have your sins condemned you? Let Jesus speak His words of forgiveness over your life. Let Him embrace you in His arms of grace; let Him cover you with His mercy; let Him draw you close to His heart.

Because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, God says to you, "Come now, let us set things right, though your sins be like scarlet, they may become white as snow; Though they be crimson red, they may become white as wool."
- Isaiah 1:18 (NAB)

As you receive His forgiveness, hear Him say to you, "For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us."
- Psalm 103:11-12 (KJV)

During this year's Christmas, I re-dedicated my life to God and to do his will... I may not be perfect and I can make mistakes... However, knowing He will be by my side, guiding me in my decision, this has given me greater peace than other Christmases... I can also find forgiveness for myself for things that I have not done well or people I have failed...

Now, I'm just filled with excitement for the challenges in the year ahead...

Finding Meaningful Work: 10 ways to recover a sense of calling in your life.
by Jason E. Smith, M.A.

A job is way to make money. A calling is a way of life.

A calling consists of meaningful work that reflects who we are and not just what we do. Before we go out into the world to do our work, we need to turn inward and discover what that work might be. It is inside where we begin to make meaning in our lives. It is inside where we meet our deepest longings, our unique gifts, our truest self. It is inside where we find the twin gifts of purpose and passion that become the core of our working lives.

Here are some ways to begin the process of finding your soul’s work.

1. Do nothing

“Part of the work cannot be made, it must be received”
—Lewis Hyde

Our lives are so busy that we never have any time to check in with ourselves and reconnect to our innermost being. There are so many external voices trying to tell us who we should be and what we should like that we cannot hear our own still, small voice within that reminds us who we really are and what we really love. It is essential that we take time on a regular basis just to be with ourselves. Shut off the TV and the computer, unplug the phone, set aside the magazine and do nothing. We cannot know what we want if we don’t know who we are.

2. Ask yourself the question, “Why do I work?”

“The way we imagine our lives is the way we will go on living our lives.”
– James Hillman

Work is one of the great, unexamined assumptions of our lives. To most of us it seems obvious that we work because we have to, because that’s just what you do, that’s what people have always done. However, if we define work chiefly in terms of money-making, we lose the possibility of understanding the deeper dimensions of work, the meaning of work and the many ways it can nourish us – spiritually, psychologically, emotionally, physically, as well as economically. If you haven’t answered this question for yourself, then you may find yourself stuck in survival mode. To find meaningful work, you need to know what work means to you.

3. Get lost in something

“What did you do as a child that caused you to forget time? There lies the myth to live by.”
— Joseph Campbell

Too often our days become ruled by the daytimer. If every moment of our lives is scheduled, we cut ourselves off from the inspiration that an unexpected event or spontaneous action can bring. We have all experienced the feeling of being so caught up in something that we forget everything else. Some activities are more likely to put us in this state than others. Conversely, work that has us watching the clock can leave us drained and depressed. The feeling of getting lost in an activity is exhilarating and refreshing. The things that cause us to lose track of time are those things that connect us to a sense of the eternal in our lives and thus to a sense of meaning.

4. Remember to play

“Play enables us to rearrange our capacities and our very identity so that they can be used in unforeseen ways”
– Stephen Nachmanovitch

Play is not frivolous. Play keeps us connected to a sense of joy and pleasure. When we forget how to play, the things we do become rigid and stilted. In today’s world our leisure activities have become excessively work-like. If we go for a walk or ride a bike, it is not to take in the view, but to meet our weight-loss goals. We go to a concert to “get culture.” We go to a party to network. We have turned our play into work, when we should be turning our work into play. By playing we can resurrect our sense of creativity and remember how it feels to enjoy what we do.

5. Pay attention to your dreams and fantasies

“The center that I cannot find is known to my unconscious mind.”
– W. H. Auden

Dreams are spontaneous and candid portraits of who we are. Dreams can help us to uncover those aspects of our being that have not yet found expression in our lives. The images of a dream present aspects of ourselves that have been denied or forgotten. Dreams and fantasies reveal to us things that are hidden to our conscious minds, thus they are good guides for discovering the life that wants live through us. By paying attention to our dreams and noticing any themes, figures, or repeating images, we can get important information regarding our career exploration.

6. Read

“Everyone takes the limits of his own vision for the limits of the world.”
– Arthur Schopenhauer

If we want our work to be filled with passion, we need to first awaken the possibility of passion in our lives. It is important to explore different ideas and different ways of thinking about work and about life. Ideas are ways of perceiving the world. They provide us with the means to understand the various facts of our daily lives. The way that we approach our work is determined by the ideas that we hold about it. Expand your horizons and you will expand the possibilities that are open and available to you.

7. Explore new areas of interest

“If we all did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”
– Thomas Edison

Explore subjects and activities that catch your attention. We cannot know if we like something—or how much we like it—until we’ve tried it. Passion is born of experience, not just theory. When our bodies and minds are engaged, they become highly sensitive instruments that can guide us in making the right choices for ourselves. If there is anything that you have ever been curious about, take it for a test drive. Volunteer. Take classes. Experiment. Imagine each class or each situation as a kind of laboratory in which you can test the chemical reaction between you and a given activity.

8. Trust yourself

“Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live.”
– Goethe

Our world is saturated with advertising trying to convince us of the importance of liking the right products, the right music, the right lifestyle. We are told that if we don't fit in, we will be left behind. Soon we come to believe that if we don’t follow the tastes of the crowd, we will be ridiculed and rejected. Over time we completely forget how to recognize our own preferences. It is essential to stay true to what you like whether or not it is acceptable to others, whether or not it is in fashion, and whether or not it is “cool.” Learn to say “yes” to what you like and “no” to what you don’t like. Learn to love what you love. When you are able to admit and give room to the little callings of each day, it becomes easier to hear and enact the larger calling of your life.

9. Throw out job titles

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

It’s easy to get bogged down in our preconceived notion of what a job entails. If we start with a job title, we may reject something that is a good fit for us. Instead, we might ask ourselves, “How would I identify myself if there were no job titles? How would I define myself if there was no such thing as work?” Before we can find work that fits us, we need to know who we are and how we want to be in the world. We need to identify the things to which we want to give our time and attention. Each of us has our true identity no matter what our job title might be.

10. Work with a career counselor

“It's time to start living the life you've imagined.”
– Henry James

Work with someone who can help you explore the idea of meaningful work. Don’t be satisfied with just finding a job. It is not enough to try to fit yourself into some job description. Meaningful work is work that fits you. Depth-oriented career counseling is meant to get you in touch with the deeper patterns in your life. When you have a deep understanding of who you are and how you want to be in the world, you can then begin the process of translating that knowledge into a satisfying, real-world work situation. Be sure you feel comfortable with your counselor.

Remember: You are not just a resume. You are a complex and unique human being.

To the cat lovers out there...

*_CATs RULES_*

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Cats,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by MacLaren and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open.

I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- feline attendance is not required. The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear cats, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Cat Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our cats:

1. They live here. You don't.

2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)

3. I like my cats a lot better than I like most people.

4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: Cats are better than kids because they:

1. Eat less

2. Don't ask for money all the time

3. Are easier to train

4. Normally come when called

5. Never ask to drive the car

6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends

7. Don't smoke or drink

8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions

9. Don't want to wear your clothes

10. Don't need a gazillion pounds for University, and...

11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children

You are Judgement

Happiness, Content, Joy.

Judgment is related to the Hebrew letter Shin, which is fiery and spiritual. A break from the past, going forward.

With Fire as its ruling element, Judgement is about rebirth or ressurection. The idea of Judgement day is that the dead rise, their sins are forgiven, and they move onto heaven. The Judgement card is similar, it asks the resurrection to summon the past, forgive it, and let it go. There are wounds from the past that we never let heal, sins we've committed that we refuse to forgive, bad habits we haven't the courage to lose. Judgement advises us to finally face these, recognize that the past is past, and put them to rest, absolutely and irrevocably. This is also a card of healing, quite literally from an accident or illness, as well as a card signaling great transformation, renewal, change.

I am being stalked! Part 2

Mr Desperado sms again... so I asked him where he got my number from. Apparently, some bo liao person wrote my name and number on a public toilet door, saying I charge $100 for sex.

I was so pissed I told him I would call the cops and give them his number if he harassed me again.

Whoever did it was obviously a person whom I know cos it was by the name I was given as a kid... So to this bo liao person, I only have 1 thing to say:

There is not a problem that God has not already provided the answer for.

There is not a problem any of us face that is bigger than the God inside us.

There is not a problem that mankind faces that cannot be solved through the complete salvation of the cross of Christ.

So get a life and stop using others to harass me... I believe in God's justice. The deed that was done towards me can only add to your list of sins before God on judgement day. You alone have to answer to God for what you have done...

I am being stalked!

Some strange dude has been stalking me...

I have been receiving strange calls since Monday night. At around 8 plus, this dude called my handphone number and ask if it was a karaoke lounge. I told him 'no' and it was my personal hp number. Then he started calling back every hour until 1 am...

If this wasn't enough, he used another handphone number to sms me. First sms, "Hi". So I replied back "Who is this?". His reply? "U male"

I was like thinking like "What the #@$%*&?" so i din reply back. When I told my lil bro about this, he was laughing his butt off.

If this was still not enough, he continued calling me on Tuesday... My brave and heroic bro told him that he would send people to beat him up if he continued calling.

Today, that audacious goon had to cheek to sms me again, claiming he wants to be my friend. This after I have rejected his calls numerous times and my bro has scolded him!

All I wanna to him is:

I dun care who you are and I dun wanna be friends with you. Try sms-ing me again and calling me again... This, I swear, is what I am going to do to you.

1) I will publish your handphone numbers on my blog - that way, everyone will know what a desperate goon you are.

2) I will call my handphone operator to bar your numbers.

3) I will file a police case for harassment.

If you think I am vicious, too bad for you... I'm just simply valuing my privacy. Try me and you will live to regret it.

Soaking Monday...

This must have been the absolute wettest Monday I have ever come across... Rained almost 5 to 6 times today... gives a new definition to "Monday Blues". Typhoon Durian coming our way now?

I came to an interesting conclusion today... God has a wry sense of humour. He provides you with opportunities to help others when you are carring 3 huge bags of stationery...

When I got off the bus (I was heading home), I had an interesting opportunity to help a blind man. He wanted to get to Church of St Ignatius at the end of the lane. Initially, I wanted to help him to the junction so he could walk up the slope. However, seeing him struggle with his stick in the rain, plus he nearly walked into lamp posts and on the road a few times, I really didn't have the heart...

So I walked him all the way to the church.

The result: Me... soaking wet. My bags... soaking wet. My heart... feeling absolutely happy!

You Are A Realistic Romantic

It's easy for you to get swept away by romance...
But you've done a pretty good job keeping perspective.
You're still taken in by love poems and sunsets
You just don't fall for every dreamy pick up line!

Poetry from my past

Sonnets from the Portuguese, XIV
by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
'I love her for her smile--her look--her way
Of speaking gently,--for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee,--and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry,
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love, thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.

Who Ever Loved That Loved Not at First Sight?
by Christopher Marlowe

It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.
When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
And one especially do we affect
Of two gold ingots, like in each respect:
The reason no man knows; let it suffice
What we behold is censured by our eyes.
Where both deliberate, the love is slight:
Who ever loved, that loved not at first sight?

The Clod & the Pebble
by William Blake

Love seeketh not Itself to please,
Nor for itself hath any care;
But for another gives its ease,
And builds a Heaven in Hell's despair.

So sang a little Clod of Clay,
Trodden with the cattle's feet;
But a Pebble of the brook,
Warbled out these metres meet.

Love seeketh only Self to please,
To bind another to It's delight:
Joys in another's loss of ease,
And builds a Hell in Heavens despite.

The Garden of Love
by William Blake

I went to the Garden of Love.
And saw what I never had seen:
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.

And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And "Thou Shalt Not", writ over the door;
So I turn'd to the Garden of Love,
That so many sweet flowers bore,

And I saw it filled with graves,
And tomb-stones where flowers should be:
And Priests in black gowns, were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars, my joys & desires.

Love's Philosophy
by Percy Bysshe Shelley

The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever,
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one another's being mingle;--
Why not I with thine?

See the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower would be forgiven,
If it disdain'd its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;--
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?

When the Lamp Is Shattered
by Percy Bysshe Shelley

When the lamp is shattered
The light in the dust lies dead
When the cloud is scattered
The rainbow's glory is shed.
When the lute is broken,
Sweet tones are remembered not.
When the lips have spoken,
Loved accents are soon forgot.

As music and splendour
Survive not the lamp and the lute.
The heart's echoes render
No song when the spirit is mute--
No song but sad dirges,
Like the wind through a ruined cell,
Or the mournful surges
That ring the dead seaman's knell.

When hearts have once mingled
Love first leaves the well-built nest.
The weak one is singled
To endure what it once possessed.
Oh Love! who bewailest
The frailty of all things here,
Why choose you the frailest
For your cradle, your home, and your bier?

Its passions will rock thee
As the storms rock the ravens on high.
Bright reason will mock thee,
Like the sun from a wintry sky.
From thy nest every rafter
Will rot, and thine eagle home
Leave thee naked to laughter,
When leaves fall and cold winds come.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know;
His house is in the village, though.
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reluctance
by Robert Frost
Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.
The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.
And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question "Whither?"
Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?
The Priss
Deliberate Brutal Love Dreamer (DBLDf)
Mature. Responsible. Aristocratic. Excuse me. The Priss.
Prisses are the smartest of all female types. You're highly perceptive, and confident in your judgements. You'd take brutal honesty over superficiality any time--your friends always know where they stand with you. You're completely unfake. Don't tell me that's not a word. You're also excellent at redirecting internal negative energy.
These facts indicate people are often intimidated by you. They also fall for you, hard. You have a distant, composed allure that many find irresistible. If only more of them lived up to your standards.
You were probably the last among your friends to have sex. And the first to pretend that you're pregnant. LOL. Though you're inclined to use sex as weapon, at least it's not as one of mass destruction. You're choosier than most about your partners. A supportive relationship is what you're really after. Whether you know it or not, you need something steady & long-term. And soothing.
ALWAYS AVOID: The Playboy, The Loverboy
CONSIDER: The Manchild
Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of
intoxication with success
The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.
Updates on Grandma...
My dear Grandma was operated on last evening at 6.30 pm. She was so nervous and scared the whole day that she barely said few words...
Seeing her so nervous, scared and worried also made me feel very jittery... I even prayed and fasted for her so that the operation would be smooth-sailing.
Praise the Lord! God showed her his favour. The operation went very well and she did not even have to stay in the high dependency ward. She was pushed back into her regular ward after the operation.
When the anesthesiologist came to check on her later, he told us what a great lil trooper she was. Although they only gave her an epidural, she wasn't fretful. She kept chatting with him throughout the operation. Her blood pressure was also "rock-stable" in his words...
The worst is over... but she still has to stay in the ward for another few more days.
Thanks to all the friends who helped me to pray for my dear Grandma!
Busy Holiday...
I think this must have been the busiest holiday for me... between going back to school and going to the hospital... I can't say it has been very restful holiday for me...
Before anyone freaks, it is not me who needs treatment as the hospital or whatever... My grandma has been shuttling in and out of the hospital.
Last week, she was there for a cateract operation. Though it was pretty fast, was over in last than an hour, I had to be with her the whole morning to see her through her recovery in the day surgery ward.
Today, it was worse. She fell while bathing in the toilet this morning and her hip socket was fractured, causing her femur to be dislocated. She was in a pretty bad shape and had to be put on traction to stabilise the bone. Doctor recommended the removal of the fractured hip socket and a titanium implant will be put in place. The femur will be attached to the implant using screws.
Initially, the orthopedic surgeon wanted to operate on her tonite but she complained of giddiness. So she was sent to do an MRI instead. The doctor was worried she might wind up with stroke...
After the MRI, everything looks okie so she's set to be operated on tomorrow evening... However, the whole family is pretty worried cos Grandma is over 80 years old. Mom is worried about post-operation complications cos her brain vessels are a lil narrow (due to old age), or the antibiotics they will ply her with might be too strong for her.
I'll be praying and fasting for her tomorrow.
Dear friends, if you see my post, can help me to pray for her that she will get through this and be in good health? Thanks so much....
THE CREATION OF THE TEACHER
The Good Lord was creating teachers. It was His sixth day of 'overtime' and He knew that this was a tremendous responsibility for teachers would touch the lives of so many impressionable young children. An angel appeared to Him and said, "You are taking a long time to figure this one out."
"Yes," said the Lord, " but have you read the specs on this order?"
TEACHER:
…must stand above all students, yet be on their level
... must be able to do 180 things not connected with the subject being taught
... must run on coffee and leftovers,
... must communicate vital knowledge to all students daily and be right most of the time
... must have more time for others than for herself/himself
... must have a smile that can endure through pay cuts, problematic children, and worried parents
... must go on teaching when parents question every move and others are not supportive
... must have 6 pair of hands.
"Six pair of hands, " said the angel, "that's impossible"
"Well, " said the Lord, " it is not the hands that are the problem. It is the three pairs of eyes that are presenting the most difficulty!"
The angel looked incredulous, " Three pairs of eyes...on a standard model?"
The Lord nodded His head, " One pair can see a student for what he is and not what others have labeled him as. Another pair of eyes is in the back of the teacher's head to see what should not be seen, but what must be known. The eyes in the front are only to look at the child as he/she 'acts out' in order to reflect, " I understand and I still believe in you", without so much as saying a word to the child."
"Lord, " said the angel, " this is a very large project and I think you should work on it tomorrow".
"I can't," said the Lord, " for I have come very close to creating something much like Myself. I have one that comes to work when he/she is sick.....teaches a class of children that do not want to learn....has a special place in his/her heart for children who are not his/her own.....understands the struggles of those who have difficulty....never takes the students for granted..."
The angel looked closely at the model the Lord was creating.
"It is too soft-hearted, " said the angel.
"Yes," said the Lord, " but also tough, You can not imagine what this teacher can endure or do, if necessary".
"Can this teacher think?" asked the angel.
"Not only think," said the Lord,. "but reason and compromise."
The angel came closer to have a better look at the model and ran his finger over the teacher's cheek.
"Well, Lord, " said the angel, your job looks fine but there is a leak. I told you that you were putting too much into this model. You can not imagine the stress that will be placed upon the teacher."
The Lord moved in closer and lifted the drop of moisture from the teacher's cheek. It shone and glistened in the light.
"It is not a leak," He said, "It is a tear."
"A tear? What is that?" asked the angel, "What is a tear for?"
The Lord replied with great thought, " It is for the joy and pride of seeing a child accomplish even the smallest task. It is for the loneliness of children who have a hard time to fit in and it is for compassion for the feelings of their parents. It comes from the pain of not being able to reach some children and the disappointment those children feel in themselves. It comes often when a teacher has been with a class for a year and must say good-bye to those students and get ready to welcome a new class."
"My, " said the angel, " The tear thing is a great idea...You are a genius!!"
The Lord looked somber, "I didn't put it there."
If children live with hostility,they learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to be shy.
If children live with tolerance, they learn to be patient.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with praise, they learn to appreciate.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with security, they learn faith.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with acceptance, and friendship, they learn to find love in the world.
Jokes Galore!
One day God called Jesus and his helpers into a meeting.
God said that he wanted them to create a data base on heaven's super computer.
He said He wanted them to list everyone who had ever been born and all the good and bad things that each had done since the beginning of time. They all said they could do that and so they sat at their keyboards for hours, then days and weeks.
Finally they were almost done when there was a power failure in heaven and the computers all went off. Only seconds later the lights came back on and all the computers started to re-boot. There was much crying and gnashing of teeth and pounding of keyboards as this happened. Down at the end of the table sat Jesus with a big smile on His face.
Why was Jesus smiling amongst all this dismay?
Jesus Saves!
